Like the title says, anyone have any recommendations on a good out of the box compact tactical 223? Looking at:

1. Tikka Tactical 223
2. Remington XCR Compact Tactical 223
3. CZ Varmint 223 with shortened barrel.

Ideally looking for a 8 or 9 twist and magazine. Yes, the XCR doesn't have a mag, but plan would be to have a Badger set up installed.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you.

Tikka mags are expensive, and rarer than hens teeth

Rem, isnt DBM

CZ, is compact, DBM, and its quality is pretty astounding

Go CZ, varmint kevlar version, and dont look back

The CZ Varmint Kevlar is a good gun for the money. I got good accuracy with 40gr & 52-53gr.

My only problem with it is the clearance between the bolt handle and the scope. A little to close for me. Not a problem now since the wife has laid claim to it.

It may not be the best but it is hard to beat for the price.

Rem has the most aftermarket support / upgrades available. If you're never going to change it then I would personally go with the Tikka because of the inherent accuracy. Mags you only buy a couple at most so who cares if they're $60 vs $30.
