Rifle Scopes Best Rx Shooting Glasses

Re: Best Rx Shooting Glasses

Screw the specialized stuff.

You nearsighted? If so, join the radical. Me. Then we will have plural, radicals:

Add your reading glasses value to your regular prescription, ignoring astigmatism and whatever else is needed. That is the value for your Day&Nite soft contact lenses. I can wear mine up to three weeks without cleaning. Great to wake up with decent near vision (I'm horribly nearsighted since the end of 1st grade). Time to clean? Take one out and soak it overnight and you can still see with one eye when you wake up.

Take what's left of your prescription value, with the astigmatism and such, and that becomes your glasses. With a lot less correction needed on your high-index lenses, scratch coat, UV coat, and whatever else, there is almost no distortion to the edges.

Then just put those lenses in a frame that sits high on your nose. I look under my frames for short close-up stuff, but run without the glasses most of the day when I'm working at the desk and in front of the computer.

If you're farsighted from the get-go, you're either screwed or you might be able to reverse the math on the process.

Getting away from edge distortion was the best thing I've ever done for my vision. Too much astigmatism for any contacts to work for distance if it's not a bright sunny day.
