Rifle Scopes Best scope for 338 Edge under $1000?

I already searched and didn't find an answer. What would you guys use for glass, base and rings.

Since that is pretty much a way out there cartridge, I would consider the new Viper PST 6-24, or possibly the 4-16, depending on the range you were going to shoot.

The 6-24 would only leave you about 100 bucks for base and rings.

An EGW aluminum base and Burris XTR rings make a very good, solid combo for about 85-95 bucks.

SIGHTRON S3 HAS GREAT GLASS.I HAVE LOOKED THRU THEM. I HAVE READ THAT THEY TRACK WELL ALSO. FOR $700 BUCKS THEY LOOK LIKE A GOOD DEAL.

You can get the Leupold 30mm Long Range for $800-$900.

1. Used Leup Mark 4 6.5-20x50 (1K"ish")
2. New Leup VX3 6.5-20x50 (800-900)
3. New Sightron SIII 6-24x50 (750-800)

Liberty Optics or Great Scott Shooter supply are good places to go for the Sightron.

What about an IOR 10X or 16X straight power? MLP is $750ish Mp 8 reticle,great glass, $250+ left for Seekins rings and a rail. Scott @ Liberty Optics has been known to handle them also.

I'd say Leupold 8.5-25x50 VXIII (older model used) or a 10-50x60 SIII sightron. Also you might find a used 8-32 or 12-42 BR Nightforce for right at 1k. I am not sure how any of these scopes will hold up to the recoil.

Just put a Leupold VX-3 8.5-25 on my Edge and love it. 1/8 minute clicks are the downside.
