I currently have an SSG 3000 that I am thinking of parting with and would like to build a 6.5.. are there particular stocks//grips that are better suited for a smaller hand. The McMillian on the SSG has always felt so bulky. Is the AI or the Manne any better? Thanks.

I too have small hands. I eventually bought a McMillian A3-5 adjustable because the forend was relatively skinny compared to some other stocks I tried. I did the inletting myself and moved the action at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch farther back than it would have been on a standard set up. I did have to add material to the rear to bring the stock up high enough on the rear tang. It fits me very well and my finger is positioned on the trigger just the way I want it. The palm swell is ok for me, but any thicker and it would not be. If I ever want to sell it, I'll have to find a 12 year old buyer.

The AICS looks like it has a smaller grip. It can be difficult to find different stocks to try, so any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

IMO it depends on how you hold the rifle. I have smaller hands wear a size Medium glove and find the AI way too small.

I use an A-5 but all of the pistol grip McM I like. I dont make a habbit of really wrapping my hand around the grip like a handgun. I tend to rest my thumb inline behind the rear action tang.

When I shoot AI stocks I dont put my thumb in the thumbhole.

Just remember you dont need to have a deathgrip on the thing to shoot it.

Sign up for the online training, then you'll learn to properly pull the trigger straight back, the rest of the hand is just there not really griping anything.
