If all you need is wind then the Kestral 1000 can be had on eBay for $74 new(free shipping, and bids on used start at $35. If later you want to take you shooting past 500Y, then knowing the temp, pressure, altitude will assist with an accurate dope. Those features can be found on the 2500, 3000, and 4000 models.
