Big horn ejection removal?

Might be a dumb question but my buddy has a action wrench for a rem 700 without the slit for the ejector. I believe I can remove the ejector instead of buying the wrench for this action. How do you remove it? Just the small screw that is on the outside of it?

Yes. There's just a small screw that's turned down into a pin on the end. Remove it and a 700 wrench works fine.
It's a bit of a trick to get it back into place. Not bad, but just a little juggling and wiggling with a pick until it's back in place.
