big piney sportsmans club

Re: big piney sportsmans club

I'm praying and crossing my fingers for this nice weather to hold out over the weekend... I think I rather put up with mirage than snow falling and white out the view to the target. Besides I was too lazy to print up cold weather drop data. My .204 Ruger AR was least 2 MOA lower than the summer dope says at 600 yards last January's F-Class match. I cleaned up the AR last week but I think I will go and clean it again this week. I was still pulling copper out of the tube after 3 passes of Sweet's 7.62.
See yah at the range this weekend.

Going to have to miss this one and maybe the next few months. Ga Precision has my rifle. As nice as it is that they have it it sucks cuase I have the itch. No rifle and this nice weather is killing me. Ray Byrd

Re: big piney sportsmans club

Stefan73 and I are driving down Saturday morning. I'm doing the rimfire benchrest, rimfire sniper, and centerfire sniper, Stefan is doing the Centerfire Sniper, and 2 gun.

Really looking forward to it. Have to get there early enough on Saturday to get my dope on the .22 for the sniper match.

I'll likely be running around in the black Manners Composite Stocks hat with my work nickname "shortbus".

By the way, after the festivities, will we be able to buy a paper target to setup to get dope on the long side? Want to check calculators on another rifle to make sure we have dope for Sunday.

Viper 225 and I will be heading out in a minute to set up at BPSC for todays .17/.22 rimfire benchrest and the rimfire sniper match after. Accuweather says it will be in the 50's today and possibly the 70's for Sunday. Tinman has got the new t-shirts in, they look great. See you at the range

Re: big piney sportsmans club

Well Dust and I had a great time there!
The people and staff are really nice and friendly and I appreciate all the help!!!

Saturday I shot 600 yard benchrest. I have to say that I really enjoyed punching paper at 600 yards. Maybe next time I won't forget my bench rest and rear bag. My sock filled with yarn really didn't cut it.

Sunday started with the Tactical rifle in various positions out to 700 yards. It was a good time! I was a bit frustrated because of a mistake I made by not paying attention and moving my windage knob the wrong direction which cost me big in points.

I then went and shot the 2 gun match after eating some home made red beans and rice which was really good. The two gun match is a blast! I would have liked to have run it a couple more times but I was short on time and had to go.

Once again I want to thank the staff and other shooters there! I had a great time and I appreciate it!

Very Respectfully,
Stefan

As seen by the scores, we had some very good runs today. We had three targets that shooters seemed to bypass a lot. It wasn't bad shooting, but running past and not shooting those targets that accounted for all the higher scores.

Our next long range rifle and 2-gun match is 27 March.
