Had one of my clients come out and do a guided hunt with me couple years back and he connected on a nice ram. Called me up few months back asking if he could do a self guided hunt and felt confident he knew the ranch well enough so I agreed to do it if he brought a buddy along. They first came out in December and the hunting was slow (never seen it like that on this place) so I told them hold off and when Im seeing good numbers again will try to get you back out in a hurry.

Well last week they gave it another go and connected with a beautiful ram with great hair. Luckily the ram didn't go another foot if not it would have been a long long ways down.
It was 32.5" SCI measurements and was worn down on his tip quite a bit, very old dark ram. Will look great on the wall.

Where do you hunt in Terlingua? I am always out that way and this ram was taken not too far from there.

Between Willow mountain and Wild Horse mountain. In the valley that my friends family owns a nice big chunk of it. I think it's Terlingua Ranch gate #3 if I recall correctly. It's just a couple of miles north of Study Butte.

Did you make it out to the chili cookoff last year?

I tend to stay away from the Chili Cook offs. Its bad enough that the town Sheriff gives out tickets for just about anything due to boredom.
