Rasman35,

The Big Horn action is pretty nice in my opinion. It has a solid rear tang, an extended front tennon for better barrel support and more bedding contact. A nice rail, a well thought out side bolt release, nice bolt assembly and its more unique feature is the floating bolt head.

I have spoke with AJ Goddard a few times and I think there was some thought put in to the metallurgy and design. Its a nice setup, and they seem to shoot pretty good!

Re: Bighorn Arms

Stopped by AJ's shop a couple weeks ago.

He walked me around his shop and went over his design, machining, and metallurgy aspects of his action. No doubt a tremendous amount of thought went into every detail of his action. The fit and finish of his actions are smooth, smooth. He's a highly skilled machinist.

I plan on building two rifles on his actions, one for my brother, one for myself. What cinched it for me was meeting AJ and his wife, they're quality people and it's cool they are in my backyard.

I love mine. It's as smooth as glass, accurate, and AJ Goddard helped "walk me" through before I committed to buying.

William Roscoe put the rifle together for me with a Rock barrel, and the Roscoe/Bighorn combo is great.

You can't go wrong.

Best,
