I'm looking for a good pair of binoculars for my daddy's Christmas present; around the $200 price range. I found a company called "kruger" that I'm liking on SWFA; but was wondering if any of you out there had any input...Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Re: binocular question

$200 is a tough pricepoint to hit for a "nice" set of binos. Many manufacturers have offerings for that price, and for the price, they're good.

Any idea what your dad will use them for? That will get you started on magnification and size.

Call Doug at Cameraland to discuss. They/he know their optics! He'll get you set up with the best item for you.

Re: binocular question

rgr that...I liked the fact that the kruger ones are made in America; but I'll check out the Vortex-I've seen them around (binos and riflescopes) and hear a full spectrum of reviews on them. Thanks-keep em coming!

Re: binocular question

Camofire.com runs nikon monarch 5 on sales pretty often for right at 240...they are regularly over 500 and pretty nice glass for the money.

I like them. They are Razors. Should be right around $200 depending on model.

Great service from Cameraland too. </div></div>

I think you may mean Raptors. No way you got anything Razor for $200 unless someone screwed up. The Razor line is Vortex top of the line series.
