Bipod causing rifle cant?

Hey all, I have been having this problem with rifle cant and i believe it is my harris bipod either, not compatible with my tubular handguard (jp's signature handguard line) or i may have installed the bipod incorrectly (highly doubt). I have the harris 6-9 inch style bipod with no swivel or cant features yet i still am able to rotate very slightly the rifle while the bipod is engaged. While looking through the scope i could tell the reticle is canted a degree or two without touching my rifle. But then, when i get my hands on the gun, i am able rotate the reticle back into perfect vertical alignment. I know for a fact that it is not handguard cant or scope cant because i have leveled everything perfectly when setting up both features, i even checked all the screws on the rings and base. So if anyone has ran into a problem similar to mine or know how i can de-cant my rifle without messing with the scope, would appreciate any advice.

Thanks,
Mike

Comman problem with a non adjustable Harris. I would shim it ever so slightly where it mates with the handguard or better yet, sell it and get the swivel model.

Shimming is great and all, up until you run up against a non level surface. Then you have that cant again. With a nonswiveling bipod, your rifle is only as level as what it is sittin on. Get the swivel model bipod and be done with it. That and a fast throw adjustment lever makes leveling your rifle stupid-easy, regardless of what is under your bipod.
