BIPOD RECS

I just setup my Savage 10 FCP HS PREC with a Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50

Don't know much about bipods. any recommendations? Intended use is target shooting 100-600 yds.

It generally comes down to a Harris or Atlas. If you don't have a rail on the forend of the stock, a Harris is the way to go. Get the swivel model Harris.

If you decide to go with the Atlas, it is a nice bipod, it will just require the addition of the rail to your stock.

Call me the oddball.

I've used Harris bipods, and now have a 30 dollar UTG bipod. I love it, it's built like the Harris, and works just fine.

6"-9" works well prone and on a bench for me, swivel is a must and notched legs. I have only shot Harris so I don't have opinions on the other brands.

Is adding a rail then a bipod counter productive?
Does that not make the weapon taller and more prone to tip over.
The TRG bipod design just feels so much more stable to me.......of course for $550 it better wipe my ass also.

If you decide to add a rail I'd suggest the GG&G bipods. I have one on a 6.8 and love it. You can get the bipod with and without cant.

I had a Harris, then took a gamble three years back and got a $30 Rock Mount bipod. Call me cheap, but that's all I buy now. 1/3 the price for the same function.

The latest thing that I've run across in the realm of bipods is the stuff that Dave from LR-Accuraccy is making. They're less expensive than the Sako and superior in design for strength and features (having used both).

I stronly disagree.

Adding a short rail to a rifle that just has a front sling stud is dead easy. After that, installing an Atlas is a no brainer.

I did both in my basement in less than 30 minutes including the setting time for the epoxy used to secure the rivnuts inside the stock.

The Atlas bipod is just so far ahead of anything Harris it's not even worth discussing.

anybody use the real deal parker hale bipods? guess you just have to have a stud installed in the front of the stock. it doesnt look to difficult to set up for on. seems like the AI guys like them.

The stability of the Harris is, in my opinion is lacking
The new Sinclair bipods legs spread out wide and from the pics I have seen look very stable.......anybody out there used one?
