Seems to be a bipod coming out of every corner at the mo, so i figured I'd let you all have a look at our newest product.
Keen eyes will note that the spigot hasn't been blackened in the photos and might recongnise some of the features from an in service, battle proven bipod ( taken on with approval-consent and not just copied by the way)
By not going high up with the leg pivot points as with the TRG bipod we've managed to keep the legs shorter ( = less weight and bulk) but have kept the pivot point of the rifle exactly the same,
The shorter legs also dont interfear with a suppressor, but give exactly the same rifle height and range of adjustment as our TRG type bipods. Future production TRG type bipods will be fitted with these type of legs (just a little longer) and the podlock feature.
Made mostly of hard anodised alloy.
Bipod is quick detachable, has a tilt lock, and fits Versapod spigots as standard, with an adaptor it is fittable to AI type stocks or with a different adaptor to picatinny foreend rails. Ski type feet, notched leg adjustments.
Light weight, very strong.
Euro price is 240€ incl the VAT. Tax free export 201€. That is a lot of bipod for a very reasonable price in my opinion.

How does it fit on the stock? Will it fit on a standard Remington 700 stock with sling swivel? Do the legs pan or rotate forward or backwards to allow for more height adjustment or uneven ground.

Like the metal foot pads, will there be claw options. Thanks.

I'm guessing that the tilt-lock would not be functional on an AI. Right?

I've been looking for a tilt-lockable bipod alternative for my AW50. I attempted to order an APA bipod through MHSA (which is not lockable, but at the SHOT show the sample was nice and stiff), but it was clear that APA didn't take manufacturing very seriously and we both gave up on them.

It would be really difficult to sway me from an Atlas bi pod. I love the way they load, pan/tilt, the different shooting positions (shooting with legs at 45deg). Overall one of the best I have shot.

Bipod fits on a spigot.
It would easily fit to any standard stock with one of Glen Seekins picatinny rails that double as a sling attachment,. we've an adaptor for Picatinny rails to make the bipod usable on AR-HK and all picatinny type hand guards,
It will also fit the variouse versapod adaptors that are available.

I guess i could come up with an attachment for swivel studs if there was enough interest.

Legs on the one in the pic only fold forward to storage possition, it would be easy enough to make them go both ways, and stop at 45°

Tilt lock is functional on the AI. The adaptor locks into the hole in the AI stock. and is machined to fit tight upto the machined block that limits your travel on the AI bipod, this gives you a fixed spigot. The bipod then rotates around the spigot and is able to be tightened or locked via the locking handle.

The bipod is very very strong, the basic design is a combat proven design, and is in use on several very heavy .50 sniper rifles, as well as other in service sniper rifles.

Atlas is a great bipod. We just dont seem to get many over this side of the pond, To be honest, the Harris is a great bipod and would probably cover 90% of all sutuations ( and the cheap chinese copies of that would probably cover 80%) but, some situations and users demand more,
Altas is US made, This one is made in Germany, both are great bipods, different but alike, thats a plus over far eastern cheap knockoffs.
Guess you pay your money and take your choice, like in all things, .

Honestly it's an honor to have a piece of gear be included in such fine company, thank you.

(As a side note, I have a goodly amount of German blood flowing in my veins, so while different, there is a connection.

Kasey. keep up the good work, and if you ever get on a trip back to your roots drop in and see us ok.

Brasscow. keen eyes bud, i mentioned above that someone would recognise the basic design, it amounts to basicaly an upgraded version of the bipod you mention,. localy manufactured for me by the same company that makes them for the Austrians, with some additional features at my request and with design input from me to upgrade and expand the model types.
Which ends up with a proven basic design taken to higher levels of user friendlines and eronomics.

Bipod is compatible to:

Any versaopd spigot
Any adaptor with a versapod spigot.

To AICS - AI stocks by way of an adaptor
To TRG stocks by way of an adaptor
To Picatinny rail foreends, by way of an adaptor
( Adaptors will shortly be pictured in our webshop)

There is a version to follow that has the same leg pivot position and the cradle feature as the TRG-Raptor bipod,

we are also looking at a split leg version, 2 separate parts that will fit the side picatinny rails on rifle fore ends,

For people that dont know that comes out to about $254 US. Not bad

The split leg version is definately on. it will just take a little while to get around to it.

I sold my Versapod and put this one on it. It is absolutely amazing quality, up there with Kaseys product but for different uses. I salivate every time I take it out of the safe. It is of the highest quality.

Can you tell me who makes it? Did I get an HS-50 or this HS-40 that you are talking about? How do I tell the difference? Can you put me in contact with the manufacturer in Germany/Austria so I can have a complete history on my Steyr SSG 08 setup?

It's made by Fortmeier in Germany (and sold by Steyr)

It comes factory installed in the SSG-08 (.338LM only) and in the HS-50 series.

Thanks, Shot! That's funny. I just bookmarked that on my Firefox bar about 5 minutes after I posted this, after a google.de search. Fortmeier! Wonderful stuff. I sold my Atlas with my SSG 69 with intentions of replacing it. I'm holding off on ordering cause Kasey says there might be a heavy version out which I might want to consider. I think that might be on Kasey's back burner while he catches up on orders for the current one. Wonderful bipod. Can't wait to get that back also!

Hi Driver, yes the bipod is truly fantastic.

I got the SSG-08 (300WM) and it came with the Versa-Pod...so a minute later I ordered this great piece from Steyr factory-direct. Never looked back, and I'm sure you won't too.

A heavier version? What for? But now you made me curious!

Coincidence maybe, but I seem quite similar to the HEINRICH FORTMEIER Heavy duty bipod designed for the Steyr SSG 08 (338 LM) and the HS50....
