As I originally posted we have no problems with the current setup and we will have some sound reduction when I put the can on both guns. I have experimented with solid copper bullets to ensure not led from the fmj’s we currently use. Still not sure about the copper. We try to take them behind the ear whenever possible. For those talking about the skull. Bison sculls are kinda different they have bone, then honeycomb, then bone. If you get into the really big boys, 2000lb or up they are really thick. I watched one take a 300mag and only flinch. Then a 45-70 being the ear finished him. We kill 30+ a week almost year round for almost 30 years and rarely have to do a follow up shot. I was just curious about getting the sound down so as to keep the neighbors happy. I was curious what the 300 or 8.6 blackouts were like since they still carry some decent energy at impact. Thanks for everyone’s input and I’ll post what I found out as I go farther down the copper bullets rabbit hole.
