BL-C(2) and CARBON

Re: BL-C(2) and CARBON

I don't think anyone ever accused BL-C(2) of being clean.. That said, light loads don't burn off as well as higher end loads. Also, try a hot primer like a Fed. 215. If Bl-C(2) shoots for you don't worry about it. You got to clean the gun anyway.

What is the best carbon remover? </div></div>

If you're interested in carbon only cleaning, you can use one of the several carbon cleaners for engines. I've used Sea Foam Deep Creep, Berryman B-12 and Mercury Quicksilver power tune engine cleaner (this really cleans the carbon out, found at boat supply stores).

Re: BL-C(2) and CARBON

I like Wipe Out . It is a foaming bore cleaner that does a good job. They also make an Accelerator product and Patch Out, a non-aerosol version of Wipe Out. I like Wipe Out better than Patch Out.

Accurate Shooter speaks highly of it and gives other suggestions for cleaning barrels you might find interesting.

Re: BL-C(2) and CARBON

Are you talking about fouling in the bore, or are you running a gas gun?

I use BLC-(2) for .223 loads in my ARs and have never noticed worse than normal carbon buildup on the bolt, but I also keep them wet with Mobile 1.

For bolt guns, I like using a foaming bore cleaner and lt it sit a while before I get the rod out.
