Wells Custom Gunmakers uses it with excellent results. I like it a lot, the Krylon jobs that many of us do to our rifles seem not to stick as easily, however the overall appearance of the Teflon is exceptional IMO
Depending on the cost my understanding is that Ionbond is much more durable but also offers corrosion resistance and lubrication properties. It's also not nearly as thick of a coating as BlackT is.
It's been awhile since I had anything with Black Teflon on it though so perhaps they have improved it. That said if it's the choice between Black T and blued I'd take Black T every time.
Birdsong's Black-T and a black teflon finish are not the same. I looked at Dakota's site and they just refer to a black teflon finish - not Birdsong's Black-T. As such, it should wear as well as any other painted finish such as Gun Kote or Aluma-Hyde.
we occasionally send a gun off to get tefloned. Its alright but scratches easily. moly resin is a near match to teflon. i would opt for something more durable for a brush gun.
