With my 3 LRS2 match barrels in 243 and 308 cal best accuracy with hand Loads seems to be when seating bullets with conciderable jump to lands, Has other Blaser LRs2 shooters also found same.

Re: BLASER LRS2 OAL.

i was warned by a dealer not to use reloads in the blaser,
a friend has a lsr2-308 and the chamber is huge, brass is a once only deal in his gun, it does say in the instructions about void warrent , no handloads etc
it could just be a lemon of the bunch, it is a very very accurate gun with factory/exmil ammo

Re: BLASER LRS2 OAL.

Been reloading for my Blasers for over 10 years without any major issues, Just Curious to find out if other blaser reloaders found best acuracy with large jump to lands that might suit the straight pull action of the blaser.

Re: BLASER LRS2 OAL.

I have shot several 1000 yds out of my LRS2 and reloaded the cases many times 10+ no problem. Of course you need to bump the shoulder back due to the no cam action of a straight pull. To refine a load, I suggest you use a method such as the OCW method below, once you find the OCW POI, then ajust seating depht. There is no magic seating depth, every rifle has its own and you have to find it for your rifle. Close to the lands may not be the best, some like alot of jump ( bullet selection jacket thickness comes into play. You are ajusting the barrel time or OBT optimum barrel time.

There are methods to developed loads; one is the OPTIMAL CHARGE WEIGHT method http://optimalchargeweight.embarqspace.com/ which IMO is the best. After you find the common POI point of impact and the optimum charge weight, you then will tune the OCW load by ajusting the seating depht.

Might seem a little confusing a first but it real is simple and fast. In about 20 rnds you will learn allot read and study the information from the link then do a search here, there are several threads. If you decide to use this method do it like it is written until you have a couple of years loading under you belt.

http://practicalrifler.6.forumer.com/ Is a web site that people who use this method post to to exchange information, you can post if you need help with results of you test. Its back to the old thing you have to do the work to understand the process. If you just select loads from other peoples work you will miss an oppertunity to learn a lot.

Re: BLASER LRS2 OAL.

Unsichbar, My 308 LRS2 seems to have 2 oal sweet spots with Lapua brass + 185g moly scenar, 1st is 2.725in with 46.6g n540 load, 2nd is 2.855in with 49-50g N550 Load, How often do you bump the sholder and what Loads+bullet do you use for 1k shooting with your LRS2.
