Body die question

I was going to say no, but I just got the drawings out for each and but for overall case length and length to neck/shoulder joint, they're identical. The critical shoulder taper is the same angle, although the 260 Rem's shoulder is longer than the .308, so this might present a problem with the fit in a 308 body die.

I guess you can try to lube up a junk case real well and see, but they're only $25 bucks if you look around.

Not real sure what you're asking but I've successfully used a 7-08 FL die as a .260 body. Using a .308 might leave a tad too much shoulder bulge but maybe not.

Re: Body die question

They are cheap enough - get one of each that you need.

That said, though, I used a .308 Redding body die for my .260 for quite awhile, and to good effect.

Cannot vouch for other brands of dies, but Redding body dies are cut small enough in the neck that I cannot go the other way and use my .260 body die for .308 without making the .308 into something else. The .260 die will swedge down the .308 neck.

The short answer to the question is no, definitely not vise versa
