Insane to think that we would have even considered giving something like this to a foreign company... I'm sure EADS will make an appeal and send this one around the loop again.

And yes, I am biased as well because I used to work for Boeing (Flight Controls Electronics in Everett), live in Washington state, and as an American citizen expect that deals like this should be no-brainers and not a 10 year battle.

Giving work to other countries is one of the problems with our economy. We not only need to bring our troops home but also more business.

Kudos to anybody who can make a go of an aircraft manufacturing company when its names sounds like the noise of a bouncing airplane.

Before the announcement, both companies made public statements that said they would contest the decision in the event of the other winning.

As long as I've been with BMA I've never been able to wrap my head around the idea of outsourcing defense work, especially one of the most prized posessions that the US has, our ability to fly long distance and keep jets in the air all around the clock.

IMO this would be akin to tasking some other country to build our aircraft carriers for us.
