I am going to purchase a .204 for plugging prairie varmints and paper. I think I am most interested in accuracy and assume that a bolt action would beat out a semi auto - but in a .204 is that true? Any recs on particular guns?

Re: Bolt or semi

I would think a big plus of the 204 is seeing impacts. The bolt is going to make that easier since all those extra parts won't be moving around right after you pull the trigger

Re: Bolt or semi

The second most accurate rifle I own is an AR and it is only the tiniest fraction less accurate than my Sako TRG-22, which is saying something.

I love my bolt guns, but when it comes to varmint hunting, I'll take a really good AR every time.
