Gunsmithing bolt play on a bare action

When you look at a bare action with no barrel, trigger or anything like that, how much play should how have in the bolt? Both along the axis of bolt travel and radially. How much would be desired in a tactical / hunting set up? How much is too much?

Well its kinda a hard question to answer. 95% of the mausers Ive felt you could do a .5" circle with them when there open. Most Remingtons have about .005-.007 clearance between the bolt and receiver so take from that what you would like.

Its a remy clone. I don't want to say what whose right now since I am working on the resolution of an issue with the manufacturer.
I just want to know if the whole thing is crap or not.
