Hi guys,

when bore sighting a rifle, should I use the turrets to move the reticle, or use the screws in the turret?
the scope in question is a Vortex Razor Gen II HD. i rested the gun, bore sighted & the reticle was way off at 30 yards. So I popped the turret caps to access the adjustment screws, loosened the hex screws & adjusted the reticle with a screwdriver. That’s what the owner’s manual says.

the I encounter a YouTube video featuring Ryan Cleckner it’s the exact same set-up: a Tikka T3x TAC 1 in 6.5CM with the same Vortex scope. He bore sighted using turret adjustment (not screws) then shot, adjusted again & slipped the scales.

my concern is that a screwed up my scope using the screws.

no, i haven’t had a chance to shoot it—work is a deman biotch lately, so bore sighting is all i have time for.

Thank you for the help.

Thanks! I thought the owner’s manual was the way to go, as a newb....but then I thought: what if there’s the “right way” and the “owner’s manual way” and they’re different?
