In the Nightmares of Ghogs
Well had totally forgot I had this rail for my Ruger MkII and came across it awhile back while cleaning things up/out. Also had a FastfireII that I had taken off a rifle.

(NOTE: Wasn't quite sure if it would work so didnt do a step by step on the project).
.
Well the rail wouldnt fit on the pistol without the removal of the rear sight. I didnt want to remove the rear sight. So I said screw it and broke out the dremel. Cut off a little at a time to about this much:

An tried to mount the fastfire but apparently the "most" part of the fitting weaver/pic rails is true. The "crossbar" was to wide for this rail. SOO out comes the dremel again. After a little grinding/removal heres the finished product.

The sight was disassembled for the grinding/cutting procedure so as not to screw any of it up. Also I tried to lighten the last picture as the rail blended in quite well under the original lighting. I haven't got it out yet as i just finished it up today.
.
Also the desired effect of being able to use the factory sights was maintained. Simply remove the Fastfire and its back to business as usual.

Thanks, actually its a MkIII I might try it on the slabside II i have at some point but like the shorter barrel for the fun factor.

I'll let ya know after this weekend when i get it out for a test drive.

Re: Boredom, parts an a dremel.....

Now I'm just making an observation but it looks like the sight is canted in the rear shot of the gun. Maybe I'm just cross-eyed but it doesn't look like things are straight to me. Not trying to be an ass just pointing something out.
