Quick question if someone has any information. Posted it pictures of factory bottom metal on a 700 I picked up locally a few weeks ago. This is a G Prefix action and appears to be a 20” Tactical model. However, the stock is not a Hogue oversold but rather a HS Precision which appears to be factory to the rifle. I know Remington used these stocks on other models. I have a S prefix stainless 24” model with the green web HS.

My question is the bottom metal in the pictures. I’ve owned a lot of BDL 700’s and I don’t remember any of them having this style. But again, this appears to be OEM Remington bottom metal.

Any help is appreciated on if this design is more valuable rare than the standard flat cover that I’ve seen on all other BDL’s I’ve owned.

It was called the Mag-Xtender, I used to have one for a Remington 700. As per the above, it replaced the floor plate on the factory BDL and provided a little extra capacity for the rifle. It allowed you to load up 9 rounds of .223 or 7 of .308/.243 with it installed. Pretty cool thing back in the day but long discontinued.

Thanks for the information. I’m thinking the stock was also added as like the above member said, I never saw a 20” Tactical with anything other than a Hogue Over mold. I was just stoked I found something than a RR or RAR prefix on the local used shelf. Snatched it up immediately.
