Sorry if this question has been asked and answered not less than a Brazillian times, but:

What is the best magazine based bottom metal for a Remy 700P.

H-S Precision stock, glass bedded reciever, stock trigger and trigger with trigger job (going to change out the trigger for a new remmy trigger)

Anyway, wanting to go to a removable magazine system

Thanks in advance for all of the input.

in the long action 700 one would be remiss not to include the kwik klip ....if you are to drive a belted case....you could jock up 8 boolits in one magazine for a metric shit-ton LESS than any one else's magazine system....and it works rather well.

Re: Bottom metal

I read a review on the Badger M5. While it is a solid piece, I hear the edges are super sharp, like sharp enough to cut your hands. Sounds like they need to be chamfered/dehorned. I have the CDI, and it is great.

Re: Bottom metal

I have a McMillon A5 GAP TIS special with a regular Badger base, would the Badger bottom metal with the AI mags work in my rifle without modification? Would it need to go to a smith to install it, or is it simply a matter of pulling the old one off and screwing in the new trigger guard bottom metal?
Is the surgeon bottom metal a better choice?

You have to have your rifle sent to a smith or back to McMillan to have it inletted for the bottom metal, or for whatever bottom metal you go with. Surgeon makes good shit, they are both really nice pieces, its just a matter of personal preference on which one you go with.
