Bottom Metal

I have an hs precision stock on my 700. If I were to replace the bottom metal would I see a difference in accuracy. Or is that just done for cosmetic purpose...

You won't see any change in accuracy.

No change in accuracy, but if you have any intentions of using the rifle for competition or hunting in harsh conditions you should probably consider upgrading to steel bottom metal. I am not particularly hard my any of my rifles, especially not the rifles I hunt with, and I have already broken two of the factory trigger guards.
