Gunsmithing Boyd’s custom stocks

Are you talking about the Boyds Ruger American stock ? I epoxied the v blocks in first using the action to set them straight in the stock then did a skim coat bedding job second .
Yes . I have a ruger american and I bought the Boyd’s stock. It came with the front v block bedded . I wanted to bed the back one . But I was told not to bed the barrel channel bc it is easy to mess up ...

Don't the v blocks act as pillars? A light skim on the top would be a plus, probably, but I don't see drilling holes and putting pillars in blocks as a benefit.

You should be able to Google ruger american bedding and find all kinds of stuff on YouTube.

I started out just bedding the V blocks and it was ok. However, I did go back in and pillar bed it after I was having an issue getting a repeatable and consistent torque on the action screws. This was on a Ruger American in Boyd's Pro Varmint stock. Should have just used pillars from the get go. I use Pro Bed 2000 and absolutely love it. ??? this was right after I pulled it out of the bedding the first time... ⬇️
