Boyds Tacticool????

Re: Boyds Tacticool????

If im correct, the stock boyds sell is for the "e" receiver which is slightly different from the non-e receiver.

To check the model on your 17, the easiest thing is to look at the barrel and if you have 4 inchs of barrel and then followed on by a taper you have the non-e receiver.

I have a non-e receiver and waiting on Boyds to send me a stock. My understanding is that the stock can be used however new bottom metal may need to be purchased.

Re: Boyds Tacticool????

Hey Militant, if you find out any info on the bottom metal could you tell me too as Im in the same boat as you. Ordered the stock but not sure how I will get bottom metal out of the US and into Australia.

Re: Boyds Tacticool????

Predator, its not that, its the fact that barely any dealers want to send anything out of the US these days.

No jokes, i could not even purchase the two screws needed for my stock! SCREWS for gods sake!

LOL

Its more of a supplier not willing to risk it sort of thing, rahter than a customs/border control thing.

Maybe someone can get one for me and Il reimburse them

Re: Boyds Tacticool????

ok, here's the deal on these stocks... they are for the E receiver guns... the difference is the first 4ish inches of the barrel on a non E gun is the same size as the receiver... so you'll have to open these up with a pipe, dowell, socket and some sand paper, then your non E receiver will drop right in... an E receiver rifle will drop right in w/o any work, they'll fiy MK II 22LRs and 93s both and can fit a MK I single shot too...

the difference in the Bottom metal is that Savage also shortened it by about 1/2"

if you had a pastic stock w/ the molded in trigger guard, you'll need a trigger guard, you really only need one screw for the rear of the trigger guard, your factory screws will work

any other questions feel free to PM me
