The range remodel work is pretty much completed. We have moved the Main Impact Berm back 130 yards, and slightly to the right. The maximum range on the main impact berm is now 800 yards, and it is useable all year to include after a rain.
We also widened the 800 yard firing point berm on the hill. It is now twice as wide as it was before. That required 8 large dump trucks of fill dirt. We still have some trees to remove before this work can be utalized.
We also reworked some existing impact berms.
We also leveled the new 600 yard Bench Rest Firing Line. We will have base rock delivered Monday to top off the fill dirt.

We have added a Plate Rack as a side match to the 2-Gun Combat Course. This is fired at 10 and 15 yards with a handgun only. Requires 24 rounds per entry.

Come on out and see the improvements. You will be impressed. We will be resetting the targets this comming week.

TAC06 and I got 10 double target frames up today (20 EA 4' X 4' Targets). We still have 5 more doubles to go tomorrow for a total of 30 targets. We may install a few single 4' X 4' target frames depending on how it looks from the firing points. Booker delivered base rock for the 600 yard Firing Line work today. We will get it leveled off, and the 600 yard Bench Rest benches back on line shortly.

We are making progress.

I'm pretty sure i'll be there as long as the weather forecast doesn't get uglier than it's already looking to be. I'm going to come down Saturday afternoon, and camp onsite if that's ok. I've camped before there, however I like to make sure it's ok first.

I'll probly get there around 4-5 on saturday evening, hoping it's not really busy, would like to confirm zero (cleaning my rifle right now) and check some dope and group sizes with my new can at a couple distances.

Sounds like the range improvements are going to be a big help. Too bad I am heading to KC this weekend. Would love to come down and shoot. Havent been able to get away at all this year.

Unless there are more shooters than targets, there will only be one "squad". As long as you're there before 9 you should be OK. You could get there at 10 and still be there before Longshot....

Re: BPSC Sniper Match 26 June "Missouri"

As Bill said, be ready to head down range by 9:00 AM. Some times we are a little late getting everything set up. Last match we had to make a second trip down range to put up some additional targets. Then we had a shooter who called and was going to be 15 minutes late because of a bridge being out.

All 15 double targets are up.
We have placed the base rock on the new 600 yard bench rest pad. We have 5 benches on the pad, and looks like room for 4 more. They will be concrete as soon as we get time to pour them.

Well I am headed to the range for some last minute mowing.
Looks like we may have 5 or so camping at the range this evening.

See You At the Range

Re: BPSC Sniper Match 26 June "Missouri"

Saturday 25 June 8:00 PM

I left the range at 8:00 PM. We already had 10 shooters show up, and 9 are spending the night. We should have a busy day tomorrow. The shooters today brought steel with them to shoot at, and had a busy range day. They were still shooting at 8:00 PM when I left.
We did not get any simulators placed today. That means an early start in the morning.
We did get the plate rack set and leveled, so that is out of the road. We should have plenty of help in the morning.

Every one was very happy about the range improvements.

Better close, and get my gear together for tomorrow. I wont have time to mess with it in the morning.

See You at the Range

Re: BPSC Sniper Match 26 June "Missouri"

The shoot went very well. We had 26 shooters. In OPEN Division we had 19, and in Lite Tactical we had 7.

Looks like we are going to need to put a few more target frames on line.

Everything looked great.

The Red Beans & Rice was pretty much all consumed. We made up 4 each 7 Quart Crock Pots full. I changed the recipe a little this time and added 3 onions to the mix. I believe that was a good move. I believe this was the best batch ever.

Come on out for the 2 July F Class Matches.
17 July will be a Multi Range F Class shooting from 100 thru 800 yards in Open and 100 thru 600 yards in Lite Tactical.

Saturday 30 July will be our Money Shoot.
Entry Fee will be $40
Looks like we will have some nice prises to give away.

See You at the Range
