Looking for brake recommendations to put on my Tikka CTR 6.5CM. I have a TBAC brake but it is going to go on my 280AI for hunting. Any recommendations?

Looking at the Hellfire and Sidewinder, they look the same. Only difference I see if the Sidewinder is for magnums and has more gas ports on the brake.

The PVA brakes are made to direct the blast away as well. They use their patent pending Blast Shadow. They do it very well and also cut recoil.

"The "Jet Blast" ports are optimized for precision rifles and approved for use up to 300 Win Mag to reduce recoil, aid in precision and shootability, ease of install and do it all without directing muzzle blast back onto the shooter because the rearward angle is optimized to "shadow" the shooter. This is accomplished by using our new patent-pending "Blast Shadow" ports. Take a look at the snapshots we grabbed during testing, recoil reduction levels over 57% have been measured with this brake! The APA brakes work well but you don't want to be shooting alongside them. If that doesn't matter to you, (it doesn't to me) they are very effective.

Leaning towards the sidewinder. Although the heathen has good discounts.

I have both Insite Arms and Area419 brakes, and I prefer the Insite Heathen. Recoil mitigation is very similar, but the Heathen does some things better, like concussion/blast mitigation to the shooter.

The A419 does have a clever system for the ability to swap between suppressors, that no other brake company to my knowledge does.

Unless you can take advantage of their suppressor mounting system, I would go Insite Arms Heathen.

Patriot Valley Arms "Jet Blast", reduces recoil 50 - 60%, lets you see your impact through the scope so you can re-engage immediately, and directs the gas blast forward and to the side, so there are no complaints from the neighboring lanes, other than the regular complaints about brake noise in general.

They are a little rough if your shooting in a tube though, I find that out the hard way

Haven't experienced any brake that isn't, at least none of the above mentioned solutions with the exceptions of the suppressors, but they really weren't what the OP asked about, and are in a whole different league of investment price, tax, paperwork wise, where government tracking and control is concerned, and in relation to production, and bureaucracy lead times.

Ive found my little bastard isn’t as aggressive on the ear but no mater what, shooting a brake in a tube is going to rattle your teeth

419 Hellfire and PVA Jet Blast. Favorite 2 brakes right there, but as others have said, all quality brakes are pretty comparable. I find the Hellfire slightly easier to install, and PVA is slightly more comfortable as far as blast goes (but both are almost identical)

I agree, the 419 Hellfire would be my second choice, I prefer the PVA blast mitigation but the easy install of the 419 has a lot going for it.

Area 419 Hellfire (Sidewinder is really too much for a 6.5CM), PVA, APA, Insite Arms, so many good choices. Recoil mitigation is good on all but anybody to the side of you is gonna hate you.

Haven't gotten near as much hate with the PVA as with some of the others, as I said with the PVA the hate factor really only comes in with the noise which all brakes share in common.
