Savage Elite Precision Bolt Guns in short action has been a nightmare ! Rifles with new MDT ACC Chassis will not feed ! Either the mag release is mounted too low or the front bolt baffle is too long. That is what some expert Gunsmiths have told me. Rifle already back to factory for a week but no acknowledgement that they have even receive it yet. MDT doesn't have a solution and Savage has no clue. Tried new MDT mag and a metal AICS mag and all were failures. The bolt pushes the first round to the 12"oclock position above the chamber and buries the rest of the rounds pointing down in the magazine. Brand new right out of the box. First and last purchase from Savage !
Can give more details if anyone is interested in the problems with the New Savage Elite Precision Bolt Short Action Rifles.

Has anyone else had a problem with the New Savage 110 Elite Precision Bolt Action ? These rifles were supposed to be the top of the line for Savage Arms in short and long range actions for precision shooting. I bought one in short action .223/5.56. The rifle is already back at the factory without firing a shot with impossible feeding problems. The rifle comes in an MDT ACC Chassis and is supposed to accept any AICS magazine.
Yes Sir, I contacted the CEO of Savage Arms and told him my tale of woes and it turned out that my rifle was out of spec ! The front bolt baffle was too long and the magazine catch was mounted just a little low. That is what I told them was wrong in my emails too them. The CEO had my gun back within a week and even gave me his personal cell number if I had more problems. I am shooting it suppressed and using factory loads I am impressed with accuracy out to 500 yards. With hand loaded 77 grain OTMHP it would be a tack driver.

Capt. Doug, Good to have you here, BUT THIS IS FOR INTRODUCTIONS. You need to put your info in the right thread forum. That's what folks have been trying to tell ya nicely. It's good to have a new member and you will find the folks here are helpful and accomodating, but not for long if you don't put things in the proper place. Anyway, glad to hear that you found the problem and would have been surprised if the Savage wouldn't have shot fairly well. The LH .308 I had was a dime gun all day. . .
