I've been plugging stuff into a spreadsheet for months and just gathered the latest all together:

Case Full Dry Capacity
FA 63M 56.27
LC 86M 239.58 183.58 56.00
New FC 235.69 179.75 55.94
Lapua 234.60 178.12 56.48
Old FC 220.44 162.71 57.73
Hornady 219.95 162.12 57.83

Note that with almost 5 grains of brass weight difference between LC 86 Match and my newer FC cases, they are virtually identical inside. That extra weight is OTHER than in case wall thickness, probably a different cut in the extraction groove area.

That old FC is early 2000s, IIRC. It has smaller characters in the headstamp than current stuff.

Anyone else want to post so we can get some sort of a knowledge base here to supplant the legends of the ErrorNet?

My next "I really should be doing something else" project might be comparing the sized case capacity with the fired, 'cause that's really the best thing for us to compare between different rifles. I envision that each guy can have a rough conversion factor of X grains to add to sized capacity about equals his chamber.
