Anyone know what these marks on the case body are? They weren’t there before firing and are feelable to the touch. 6.5x55 ackly 50 grain re 23 and 140 eld. And the ejector marks are always there no matter what load even factory loads being fireformed.

It looks like some corrosion has etched a depression into the chamber wall. Can you get access to a borescope? If there is a corrosion-created depression in the chamber wall and if you size and load and fire a case, extraction might leave little brass edge that you could see.

In the posed photo the case mouth appears to be rounded - like the case is too long. Is that just an artifact of photography?

I see the ejector mark. Could be pressure or could be that the hole was drilled into the bolt face and there is a raised burr-y edge. If the latter and you remove the ejector, you can feel the burrs with your finger and you can remove them.

Rem 700 so ejector doesn’t come out so easily. So hopefully it’s just a burr causing the marks. It’s the photo that’s making the case mouths look rounded. Okay thanks I’ll definitely try to get my hands on a bore scope and check out.

It comes out extremely easy. Use a case to depress the ejector and push the pin out with a needle punch

Warning though, if you're bumble fingers like me, and your hand slips , and you aren't paying attention, it can go sailing across the loading room into the shag carpet, to be found, oh, a year or three later.

I would't personally know this, okay I lied.
