No balls but I think we knew that ever since a combat Marine was able to set himself up in a nice career letting Hollywoods A list actors suck Marine cocks. Worst EAS career planner ever had Scott Bowers, ParaMarine, Iwo Jima......

Now Hollywood sucks Chinas enticing dick.....

    We need a reset.

The trailer does make it look like a decent movie. The at sea scenes in the original were filmed on my ship (USS Carl Vinson, CVN-70) while I was still onboard. In the time since the first movie Tom Cruise has become a reasonable decent pilot, who owns and flys one of the nicer restored P-51 Mustangs between movie projects. In my mind this adds something authentic to his ability to play the character. I'll probable see the movie.

Video link added because, well who does not love the sound of a Merlin.

    Real men fly P&R R2800s.....

    Not that easy ;)
Try subbing F8F Bearcat for the Hawker and conflict is back on....

I got to see a Sea Fury flying the pattern at Houston Hobby and my, what an airplane.... Hawker made some of my favorite piston warbirds, Hurricane, Typhoon, and Sea Fury. If I ever won the lottery though, P47D or B25H (getting to an age where pulling Gs could be hazardous:rolleyes:) ...one can dream.

Sorry fellas but the forked tail devil was flown by the top ace of WWII:
    7116474

Mr Bong was credited with 40 kills.

There is certianly a lot better supply of engines and parts for the big Pratt than for the Merlin. The Plus for the P-51 today is that North American certified it. Vought never certified the Corsair, so it can only be flown with special certs and permissions from the FAA. If you have Mustang you can fly it anywhere you can fly your Cessna.

    Interesting tidbit there DD
On occasion I've got to hear the +/- of the F4U vs the Mustang. Another big plus for the mustang it that it is very easy to pull the cockpit fuel tank and install a passenger seat. There is no way that I have ever heard of to give a friend a ride in a Corsair. There is also a TF-51 mustang so you can get trained for a Mustang in a Mustang.

If you buy a Corsair, you take lessons in the Mustang get a ground school on what is different then when you first fly the Corsair your instructor talks to you on the radio. Better pay attention to what they are telling you in ground school!

Apparently the torque on the engine and the fact your take off view until the tail comes up is nothing but engine cowl makes the Corsair a tough plane to fly when its close to earth.

Well the Corsair was made for killing shit, occasionally I guess that included the pilot
