The VCDL and the GOA are on the offensive. Lawsuit just filed an hour ago challenging Northam's "temporary" ban of lawful firearms carry on Capitol grounds. Court to hear the case RIGHT NOW at this posting time...

God bless the VCDL, the GOA, and the 2nd Amendment Foundation... So far, these three groups have been the ones doing all of the heavy lifting in the recent years. If anyone STILL have doubts on who should we actually support, the answer is here.

#BREAKING: Here is Judge Joi Taylor’s ruling denying a request for an injunction against Gov. Northam’s firearm ban that goes into effect tomorrow night.

Ban was put in place as part of a state of emergency declaration for Monday’s gun lobby day at the State Capitol. @CBS6 pic.twitter.com/yDSnkxmbHR

I'm confused, the headline says ,...
Richmond judge upholds Northam’s temporary weapons ban on Capitol grounds

But in the text it says,..A lawsuit challenging Gov. Ralph Northam’s executive order temporarily banning all weapons on Capitol grounds was denied by a judge in Richmond on Thursday.

Upholds means agrees, but denied means just the opposite to me. someone Splain me,...as to me the injunction was denied?

lol guys, read the text of the order …

this is a win for all of you that wanted the court to strike down and prevent the enforcement of prohibiting firearms on capitol grounds

this is a loss for all of you that want to get the party started earlier rather than later haha

The VCDL/GOA are appealing this to the VA Supreme court.
If the VA SC were doing their jobs this would have been struck down the day it was filed.
Clearly an infringement of the COTUS and I'll wager VA constitution.
The shit about it having to "harm" someone to make it before the robes is a dereliction of law/duty.

the media is reporting the injunction was denied which means blackface Northam's executive order prohibiting firearms on capitol grounds can stand

the screenshot of an order that was posted earlier is stating an injunction was granted which would strike down only the firearm prohibition portion of Northam's executive order on capitol grounds through jan 21

I don't want to look for it but does anyone actually have a copy of the full order that was entered

The argument was the ban was only for firearms, not all weapons. Guess we will see where it goes. I think people need to plan on two weeks off, grab some camping gear, and surround the grounds.

I thought this violated the law ?? So no matter what the law states within it, a judge can violate it also ? So a law isn't really law....unless your a top dog who can make things up as they go ? Now if they do not have to obey the law, why should any of us ? Let's not forget the leo's who will be enforcing a law that is against the law. Lastly, why do laws even matter if you can violate them at will ?

I get it !!!! laws only apply to the little people, but not govt !!!

VA § 44-146.15 prohibits the otherwise lawful exercise of 2A rights, during a declared state of emergency by the governor, except in those areas specifically deemed for use as a shelter.

Gov. Northam’s executive order specifically names the prohibited area this weekend through Monday a shelter.

While this action clearly violates the intent of the law, it does seem to adhere to the letter of the law.

And I'll guess the definition of a shelter is whatever they want it to be.

We are getting to the point where people are going to start ignoring a lot of laws.
    Like prohibition I guess.

I guess if people treated 34, 68, and 86 like that we would be in a better place
Except for the fact that they will lock all of us up. The fact that they still lock people up for weed proves this.

While it meets the letter of the law, what's to prevent the whole state becoming a shelter? This is the problem with lawyers. I've battled this same BS in a civil issue with two of my relatives. They purposely leave holes in the law that you could sail the 5th fleet through. Then you get to the appeal where nobody wants to set precedent. Complete BS. Same here.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

VA is for lovers not shooters

The engineering (gerrymandering) of demographics and voting areas along with the lack of voter turnout in the Commonwealth of VA should be a lesson. My state of RI is next...

Basically, though 14 acres of green space does seem like he’s playing a little fast and loose with the term “shelter”

so maybe yall need to go use it as a shelter. bring everything. cots, tents, all your canned meats, the loudest generator you can find and run it full throttle connected to nothing. Its a state of emergency that they declared. and they said that place is a shelter. use it as a shelter.

This is what happens when pussies get elected to office. The good people of Virginia should have been more careful of what they wished for.

Where has the NRA been throughout this circus?

Just a thought about the nra throughout this circus.

Their absence is a blessing in disguise. Their diseased reputation and recent public exposure to the spreading of their infections, makes them the pariahs of their caste.

Their absence does not bring their level of pollution to a clean movement by GOA or VCDL. Be glad they are not polluting and poisoning the water.

Their best action would be privately, unseen, financing of VCDL and GOA, rather than bring their level of garbage pollution into the light and damage the present support VCDL and GOA by those who hate nra...

Be grateful and glad the rallying force of 2A Haters is not present to stimulate opposition to VCDL and GOA.... Be very glad.

I have to agree. I have no love for the NRA. At one time, I was the Director of Range Safety at our local club, and one of the requirements for all RSOs, eben the Director, was to have NRA RSO certification. I paid my dues, took the class, and moved on. I was surprised to find out that the certification had to be renewed every year, not with a refresher class, but simply mailing in the required fee. So here is the NRA, holding their hand out for money and offering nothing in return. Sorry, that doesn't work for me.
I'm appreciative of what they do, if anything, but I refuse to give them more money. I have better things to spend it on instead of helping Wayne LaPierre pay for his vacation home
