Anyone have any experience with these from Brownell’s. Pretty inexpensive. Just wondering if they’re any good. Thinking about building one for my 10 yr old.

Gtg haven’t had any problems with them function wise, just don’t be expecting Kidd level accuracy from them

Would I be better off just getting the receiver and a different barrel?

I bought the BRN-22TR receiver only. Works great. I didn't get a non-OEM bolt so I can't say from personal experience, but all the folks with Brownells 10/22 receivers indicate they won't work with a lot of the non-Ruger bolts (won't fit).

Thanks. I ended up buying just the receiver and the Ruger parts kit that Brownell's carries. I also went with the ER Shaw barrel. Thinking about this stock. https://www.boydsgunstocks.com/product-configurator/at-one-ruger-10-22-3z2681w74zz

I use BRN receiver with a power custom match bolt with no problems.

the brownels receiver works just fine with the factory Ruger bolt for me
