Hi. I have a broken acog. I believe it's a ta01. I bought it second-hand, and the s/n has been ground-off. The windage and elevation knobs do not work.
Questions: will Trijicon repair it? I heard they won't because of the obliterated s/n.
Is there another repair source?
And, are there any instructions available for DIY repairs?
I paid $75 for it, and was told the elevation adjustment was broken. Apparently, my decision-making that day was poor, lol.
Thanks.

Scope was damaged by UPS during shipping. Insurance was paid out by UPS and they sold it at their "scratch and dent" salvaged property auction. :p

Sucks man, but honestly you got off cheap. I don't know any manufacturers that will repair with a serial number missing. Probably a combat loss unit.

So you bought it knowing it was broken? Instead of researching if an ACOG can be fix and if you couldnt find anything just call Trijicon up and ask them if there is a way to see if its authentic and can fix it, Before Buying it? Wish u All the Luck! Im assuming you now have yourself a cool looking paperweight sir?

I would write it off as an expensive lesson learned.
If it's dead, I might as well disassemble it. I was hoping to get some guidance before I perform surgery. And for those who asked, the removed s/n indicates that it most likely is real, and that it was "liberated". I heard that Trijicon will "confiscate" "liberated" scopes.
I'm curious to perform surgery and see what failure has occurred. After all, acogs aren't supposed to fail.

If it's not stolen property, it would have value as a 'prop'. I would imagine a photographer or movie prop business would love a real ACOG for under a $100. I'm actually trying to be helpful here.

I once had a 19 year old niece who fell for the send me a western union check and I’ll actually give you more then your asking for your car when I come pick it up lol:oops:

I have one that my LE agency got from DRMO. It had the Bible verse and SN# removed, presumably by the military when turned over to DRMO.

When I received it, I called Trijicon to see if they could replace the dead tritium. I explained how I obtained it from my LE agency, who obtained it from DRMO.

They replaced the lenses, seals, gaskets and Tritium for 300$. It's on my work rifle right now. It's a TA01NSN.
