I own a Browning A Bolt .300Win Mag 26" with a BOSS. Just to make this short, Why is there no Browning Tactical rifle. I have email stock makers and they tell me that they do not make any stocks for them. Whats the deal? Can some one help me out?
It's basically a hunting rifle. They don't make many accessories for it. Plus, it has an internal box magazine, and the COAL for bullets are (normally) very short. I like the 60 degree bolt lift, but I don't like the moving bolt shroud over the bolt.
I don't think you'll find any McMillans for a Browning, but you can call Manners Stocks (http://mannersstocks.com/) and see if he will make one (or has one). Also try Mcree's stocks: http://www.mcreesprecision.net/
I know Boyd's makes one, but it is a laminated stock.
A Bolts have always been known as great hunting rifles. Never seen a Browning at a Tactical match though. If you really wanted it in say a A5 I would think that a good gunsmith could make it work.
I had an A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in 300wsm with the BOSS. Great rifle but not a great tactical rifle. It has since been replaced by a Rem 700SS 5R 300wm.
