He was an actor.....he got paid to act like a martial arts badass. Just like Chuck Norris, but at least chuck norris did fight for real when was younger. Ole bruce would have had his ass handed to him in the ufc ring.

5'8 127lbs probably could cut 2lbs to flyweight...

He was one of the first martial artists to start combining all useful aspects of the combat arts into one and at the same time dropping all the theatrics involved that meant nothing.

He started his own system that was a combination of many different Chinese styles. His style is regarded by many to be the first MMA style. His teacher was one of the most celebrated and revered masters of Kung Fu in history.

King Fu is an art like dancing is an art. The Kung Fu guys get knocked out first round at tournaments by karate guys. There is a well known story of a karate master in Hollywood who dominated Bruce in an altercation so effectively that Bruce started incorporating karate techniques into his style. A movie was made about it recently. So Bruce wasn’t just a king fu master at the end, and his style arguably became a style of karate. Still, any one who has truly studied martial arts knows that size matters. That’s why they have weight classes in UFC. He was a skilled showman and martial artist. I’ll give him that. I sure did like his films. That’s all that matters to me.

All this showman shit talk...... I've got news for you birds: Bruce Lee would've kicked any one of our asses, hands down, without a doubt. Same with Segal (whom is now washed up). But my point is Bruce Lee. FUCKING LEDGEND

Bruce Lee is cool but I always liked Jackie Chan a bit more, especially after reading about how banged up he got in his early days by doing his own stunts. He “jumped the shark” a little bit in his later career, so I kind of have to separate him into two different phases

In his day he was great . I personally pay homage to him and respect him . In realifty though by today's standards I would fuck Bruce Lee up . BJJ , MMA , Savate and Kenpo . Been there , done that and got a stack of MRIs and XRAYS. to prove it .
All I'm sayin is apples to oranges . In his day he is the man . Hell even Royce Gracie
( pronounced Hoyce ) was unstoppable until everybody caught up . Matt Hughes unfortunately put an end to the Gracie Legend . ( still pisses me off ) Times change and Martial Arts evolve .

My formal training is drunken monkey discipline with a mixture of improvised crane technique...

Anyhow, I do agree with you but IMO the fighters at the top lose that hunger, that edge...and the ones below simply at some point want it more.

Bruce Lee would likely be in 125lb flyweight weight class and at 5'8 IMO he would hold his own.

Hoyce was around with no weight classes...back in the day. Shamrock etc those dude all around for a long time.

I've seen the vids of Bruce using electrical shock as a speed training aid.
Batman would fuck his ass up tho....

Forget the movie, but he broke his leg doing a stunt so they painted the cast to look like jeans and Charlie Mike

He broke his ankle in Rumble in the Bronx so he wore a sock over the cast, and the sock was painted to look like a shoe. Wouldn’t be surprised if they painted denim too.

The best part of some of his early movies are the blooper reels at the very end. I think the reel at the end of Rumble in the Bronx actually shows him breaking his ankle jumping onto the hovercraft

He brought martial arts to main street America.

Very skilled in his technique and like many have said, he combined what he described as the best technique from each style of the arts to include boxing into Jeet Kune Do. Real life tuff guy, its debatable but not sure who says he wasn't was around then and can actually verify.
