I'm sure its been talked about on here before, but whats everyone's opinions on Brux Barrels? Any bad stuff about them?

I have a number of them (along with Kriegers, Bartleins, Harts, Pac Nors, etc.) and we also sell them - excellent cut rifled barrels - right on par with the best of the best (in my opinion). I would not hesitate to use their barrels.

I had an issue like that with one of their barrels.
They replaced it at no charge with a shooter. I have two other Brux barrels that shoot excellent. Might give them a call.

I had an issue like that with one of their barrels.

Did you call or contact them? I have never seen a barrel company so ate up with making sure that their customers are 100% satisfied with the quality of their products. You are the very first person that I have ever heard having any issue with a Brux barrel. Again, you should contact Brux and let them know what the issues were and I would almost guarantee that these folks will work with you to make sure that you never buy any other barrel, but theirs in the future.
No offense but could it have been the chambering job or the crown was not done correctly?

Did you call or contact them? I have never seen a barrel company so ate up with making sure that their customers are 100% satisfied with the quality of their products. You are the very first person that I have ever heard having any issue with a Brux barrel. Again, you should contact Brux and let them know what the issues were and I would almost guarantee that these folks will work with you to make sure that you never buy any other barrel, but theirs in the future.

my Brux/Robert Snyder .223 AI is the most accurate rifle i own. i have another Brux at the smith right now going to be a light weight .264 Win. and one more Brux .223 1-8" Med Palma barrel on the shelf. i also run Hart, Lilja, and Krieger and i rank Brux with the best.

I order a custom contour Brux Barrel for my 338 build and got in a few weeks ago. It took about 10-12 weeks to get it. It is a great looking barrel and the interrupted fluting is awesome. I can't wait to get it chambered and see how it does. I have only heard great things about Brux barrels! They were a pleasure to talk to on the phone and very knowledgeable.

Just for reference, Hornady Superformance 178's out of my 10-twist tube will OCCASIONALLY do as well as .8" for 5 rounds. All handloads tried (RL-15, Varget, 4350; 150NBT, 168NBT, 168TSX, 175SMK, 168SMK, 208Amax, 178Amax) will hold 1.25" or so at 100 for 5 shots. That's with 3 different shooters and 2 different scopes, all screws properly torqued and optic-mounting hardware secured with blue loctite.
Same handloads would routinely shoot .5 or better from a bone-stock 700 5R.

Krieger said 25 weeks and Barltein said 8 months. These are all quality barrel makers and if you're got the time to wait than it'll boil down to your preference.
What I interpreted from these quotes lead times is that these companies are doing well in a difficult economy and that their products are highly valued.

To the OP, I have a Brux chambered in 25-06 it shoots lights out, and shows very minimal copper fouling. To the OP, I have a Brux chambered in 25-06 it shoots lights out, and shows very minimal copper fouling. sorry you got a bad barrel man.. However, after re-barreling two rifles in two different calibers, and watching them bughole, I will go out on a limb and say that yours is an exception and not the rule.
That being said, Brux's customer service is second to none and they will get you squared away ricky tick.

This is going to be my next 2 barrels for my builds coming up. Heard and seen the rifles that shot Brux barrels.
I shot with a guy in Iowa that shot a 284 with a Brux barrel. Hands down a shooting gun.

If this thread is any indication of your typical posts, I doubt that I even hold a candle to you my friend. Hope your discussion with Brux brings a solution to your issue. They are a stand up couple of guys that don't deserve to be brought done with back handed comments from people that can not find time to pick up a telephone or send an email to try to resolve an issue.

Interesting....so the 5 years i've spent down there, and the 140 acres I've purchased with a friend for retirement property, those don't count? You might also want to check the hunting forum now and then. Actually, it's probably better if you don't...your little fantasy world won't be rocked too much that way.

Of course they will. Never said they wouldn't. Have talked to them, and am making arrangements to get it back to CCA to have the current barrel pulled and a new one (gratis from Brux) installed.
The name-calling is neat though. Keep that up. It adds a great deal of credibility, a la The Gooch.
