my 6.5DD barrel that they chambered for me shoots lights out. They are an excellent barrel and will stack up there with the best.

whether 5R, Polygonal, cut, button, or how many lands/grooves (so long as they are equal), any of those makers will produce a product more capable than you.

I was considering having it fluted it there was somewhat of a reason for it.
Any thought's?

I have a Brux barreled 1:8" 6BR. It`ll EASILY shoot .5MOA at 500yds with high .2`s low .3`s the norm. It has shot .128 MOA at 440yds. These are all 5 shot groups by the way.

Good to hear good thing's about the Brux. I'm having a .338 Norma Magnum being pieced together as soon as the stock gets there. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas morning.

The only real benefits to fluting are faster barrel cooling and weight saving. I don't normally flute my barrels but if I happen to get one with fluting, so be it. Doesn't hurt anything but I just prefer the heavy tapers with no flutes. People bitch and moan about a "heavy rifle", if you think 15 pounds is heavy while your laying on the ground or running then you are crazy. Some guys might not be gym rats but if you cant jog around with 15 pounds you need to go check in to the airsoft games!!
Brux is good stuff, you will like them. The smith who built my rifle said it was extremely hard metal and well made.

As for the Fluting, I can tell you what I have heard from a couple different barrel makers, and read online, at boots obermeyer site as well as a couple other places. The thing about fluting is, it is easy to introduce a stress or minor weakness into the barrel profile that would detract from accuracy.
That being said, the top barrel makers / smiths can do an excellent job of fluting, that will in no way detract from accuracy.
I recently read about carbon wrapped barrels. I guess they not only drop a lot of weight, but help dissipate heat really well. I have no personal experience with that however.

I'm really not suprised at all. It sounds like they are really making a name for themselves. I'm only hearing good thing's about their company more and more on a daily basis. Now all we need is some more good stock companie's so we can change month's of waiting time in to week's like barrel's.

Brux makes a great barrel. I've been using them and my customers that have opted for them have been well pleased. The barrels machine well and shoot lights out.

I have one Brux being fitted by Gary Ocock to a winchester classic LA receiver chambered for 338-06, and I placed an order last thursday for a #7 contour in .284 with a 1-8.5 twist, i was told 8 weeks for completion.

Let me know how the .338-06 works out for you. Do you live on or off base? My wife wants to live on base but I like to be away from military when I am off work. I'm heading to CO here sometime near in the future. We can't wait.
