Gunsmithing Budget Brakes?

I am looking for a recommendation for a budget muzzle brake. I'm working on a 6.5x55 mauser and have succeeded in cutting down and threading the barrel. I have it threaded now to 1/2 x 28 but I can thread it to anything as long as it's in standard thread.
I am planning to cut it down one more time so I will rethread at that time anyway.
I am looking for a budget brake. I don't want to spend 100 dollars on a brake for a gun I paid 85 for. I had a miculek but a friend needed it, although I could get another.I"m mainly looking for recoil reduction for long term shooting sessions. Anyone have any ideas/advice for my build?
I've seen the vais, miculek, holland and other common ones but I know the minds here know much more about this.

Thanks for the knowledge on this site, it's helped me get started

Re: Budget Brakes?

Send RWS a pm. He makes his brakes to your specs and turn around time is awesome. I ordered one last Wednesday at 11pm and it was at my house in ND on Friday coming all the way from Idaho.

+1

I've got a couple from Ross. Great brake for the money.

Re: Budget Brakes?

I just received 4 muzzle brakes from RWS. The machining work is very nice. I like the fact that the side slots (ports) are angled back. I'm no muzzle brake expert but that makes sense to me. Also the brake is crowned with a 11 degree face.

If they work half as good as they look at $40.00 each shipped they are a steal.

+1 on the Harrels brake it's one of the best deals available. It does what it's supposed to and the price is right. $30 Muzzle Brake
