Obviously take one of these since you can't make decisions on your own:

Re: bug out bag

proper search technique aside... here's one part of my freakout kit: hazmat gear. This is aside from the regular bag full of usual bug-gear.

The case is basically a milspec pelican style case that was originally for night vision gear. Sealed and waterproof with pressure release valve. Found it at the local surplus store.

Contains:
* gas mask - recent year israeli troop style
* two filtration cartridges - Scott enforcement: http://www.botachtactical.com/scenca.html
* one set of rubber chem gloves
* one set of silver shield bio/rad over-gloves
* one tyvek chem-suit
* one bottle of rad pills

It's not too big, it's not too expensive, and you never know so why not have it around. Setup the same thing for my wife and it lives in her car. Sure it won't protect from everything but it's better than nothing.

How much of a lead do you have on the law enforcement? LOL

300, that's a pretty good idea. Although the chances of using it are probably slim, I'd hate to be wishing I had one while my skin melts off

Definitely. I'm very pleased to live in a country where the chances are very slim that I'd need to ever use this stuff but I like to be prepared anyway.... also it was fun to get all the stuff

I don't honestly expect to use it but I consider it in the same realm as stockpiling tens of thousands of rounds of ammo or keeping a month's worth of canned food in the garage.

Re: bug out bag

having to leave houston during storm season is becoming a regular event. I've got some knives, a medical kit, camp axe, a wind up flashlight & radio, firestarters, emergency blankets, rope and food and I was wondering what else would ya'll pack

how true! however i also remember beating my fists to the top of my shoulders yelling gas gas gas, donning ppe and simulating an injection. lol. funny my civilian job for the past 20years has been in the haz-mat side of the construction industry. guess my bugout bag would be my work bag. just gota get home to get more weapons and ammo.

No kit is complete without these essentials. I think I would double up on the charmin. Macho wipe or leaves aren't too appealing.

Bugout bag supply list:
gun

ziplock baggies

baggies to keep radioactive shit outta my "cold beverage"...
