hi guys this is my first post here, it looks like a great forum.
i am planning on starting to build my first long range rifle, prior to this the only scoped rifle i ever owned was a remington 700 .204 i used for predator hunting. anyway this is what i am looking at i want a potential 1000yd .308, now i was thinking about starting with a stevens action and that is still a possibility but after looking at some other savages it looks like i could possibly save some money by going with the model 10 fcpk vs. buying a barrel and trigger for the stevens, i also plan on and oversize bolt handle but i still have to do that on the 10, now i plan on putting this rifle in the xlr evolution chassis, wich is why i am not looking at the 10 FCP McMillan or the 10 FCPXP HS Precision so much i dont see a reason to pay extra for the nice stock and then just change it out, now i also plan on building this over a couple months i i will be shooting it some with the factory stock. i just want to know how you guys would go about this in the most cost effective way
