Build out a Model 700, or buy the Mossberg MVP?

I'm looking for a shorter barreled .308 with a threaded barrel that will accept my .30 suppressor.

I can get a Rem 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD (20" Threaded) for $625.
I can get a Mossberg MVP 18.5" Predator Threaded for about the same $625.

The 700 comes bare bones.

The Mossberg comes with bottom metal that takes SR25 mags, M-14 mags, and Pmags; and scope rail already installed.

Adding bottom metal to the 700 including 1 mag is in the $250 range + inletting the stock? Adding a rail is another $100, so the 700 with the same add-ons is closer to $900...

I know the 700 has MANY more options for accessories down the road, since the MVP is so new...

Is the 700 $300 more gun? (50% premium?)
Will the MVP shoot with the 700 at 500 yards?

Rem 700.

I wasn't impressed by Mossberg's MVP....or any Mossberg rifle for that matter. They feel really cheap

CID offers bottom metal for the M700 for AI mags and will inlet you stock for free. AI mags cost more than .308 AR mags, but you probably don't really need a rifle that uses magazines, although it is faster to load.

Do you really need magazines? Can a regular hinged floor plate not get the job done? I think before you make a decision you should really figure out what is more important to you. You can get a howa with their magazine system, a savage with dbm and purchase larger magazines without changing the bottom metal. You could pick up a tikka. There are many more options than just remington and mossberg. I will tell you that never in my life will I own anything with the name mossberg on it.
