I'm looking to build my first custom rifle and it's going to be a .300blk based on a stevens action. I've been looking for a barrel and have come across some choices that looked promising and not too expensive.
One that looked really good is McGowen barrel that is offered by a company called BFG Cartridge/Design. I tried searching for reviews and info but couldn't come up with much. I checked McGowen's site and couldn't find anything about this barrel, so i'm not sure if it's build for that company or whether they are turning them.
Looking at the 16.5 varmint contour but they also offer a sporter in the same length. Any thoughts, info, or advice?
