Built my first AR Upper

White Oak Armament 20in SDM Barrel 1-7 w/o flutes
Mega Upper
Troy/VTAC Extreme Rail 13in
VLTOR gas block
Miculek Brake
Armalite port door kit and gas tube

I purchased the matched bolt from WOA and I am waiting on an M16 carrier and forward assist from BCM. I will be ordering an ADM QD bipod mount and Harris bipod from DSG soon, this will be getting the Vortex scope off my R-700 for now and I have yet to decide what I am going to do for a scope mount.
Went together smoothly, I lapped the receiver face it looked like it needed it. Now just need to get some heavy ammo and visit the range.

Looks good did you build the upper for a specific reason or just to have it?

i like it. When I built my first upper I was between that 20" barrel and a Walther 20" I went with the Walther 1 in 8" poly rifling. I'm extremely happy with it how do you like yours?

Looks good! </div></div> I ordered the barrel from White Oak Armament...I actually called to order a CMP match barrel but I wanted M4 feedramps and it dimpled for a low pro gas block and the pre ban configuration with threaded muzzle. The reason I considered the CMP barrel over the SDM barrel was price...$200 vs. $400. I think I talked to John and he offered me the SDM barrel unfluted and it was exactly what I wanted. I dont forsee being disappointed with this barrels performance.

I'm extremely happy with it how do you like yours? </div></div> I dont think I'll have all the parts I need to finish it for a month and it will probably be feb. by the time I buy some 69 and 77 federal SMK ammo and can go drive it. But I just rebuilt my 16in BCM middy, Im putting new glass on my 700 and waiting to get my form 1 back on my 11.5 SBR.

Received face lapped...Looks like it needed it but how much of a difference this makes I have no idea. But it makes sense that if the barrel is canted even a .002in that could make a sizable differenc at 500+yds or whatever.
