I've decided to put a 2.5-8x32(36) on my flat top Grendel upper. I have a YHM rear BUIS, and it is 7/8" above the rail and will hit the scope unless I go with higher rings; trying to keep the scope as low as possible for best cheek weld. My question is, is it worth keeping the BUIS once I decide to scope it. I know their are some lower rear BUIS, but that would be another $100. Thanks

Just keep the BUIS at hand. Zero for 300 meters, and then, take it off, placing it, perhaps, in a pant pocket. If needed re-attach.
