It should shoot a flat based 100, as well as most any other flat based spitzer with exposed lead tip. The 95VLD type won't work 99% of the time and the 87 Vmax may be questionable???? Even the 95 BT Nosler Hunting bullet may be too long? Nosler 80BT will work and also the 85 Sierra HP etc.
ArcticLight - which 100 gr bullet?
Hunting bullet with 7-9 ogive radius I think you'll be fine with the 10 twist. Pretty sure the 95gr bullet suggestion is for the 12-14 ogive radius bullet that would require a bit more twist rate to stabilize.
Berger 100 gr Match BT suggests an 8 twist, might get away with a 9 twist at higher altitudes.
Remington was using a 1-9.25 in their 243 offering last I checked. The 95's were reccomended based on that. We never could make the 100 grain Nosler Partiton shoot in a 1-9.25 but the 95's ran like a house of fire.
The default twist for 6mm/243 is 1-8 when 105-108's are to be used. 1-7.5 for 115's
Just checked Remingtons site, 1-9 1/8" for the 6mm/243 offerings
I could not get the 95 grn Berger vlds to shoot out of my Dtech w/ a shilen or out of my model 70 bolt gun, they are both 1-10". They both shoot the 95 grn NBT's really well. I just picked up some of the 87 grn Bergers and will give them a try.
