Re: Bullets Bullets Bullets

178 A-Max. I was a die hard 175 SMK HPBT, but the A-Max does a little better in my opinion. My pet load for my 24 inch PSS (1:10) is 44.5 gn Varget, CCI BR2s, in Lapua brass (or, I've got a shitton of Austrian surplus 1979 cases that have served me very well) seated to 2.815.

180 JLK LBT
175 SMK
168 berger VLD
155 Lapua scenar

The 180 jlk is a great wind cheater, BC of ~.580 but it can be difficult to find a seating depth if you can’t reach the lands.

I use the 168 berger vld as my hunting bullet that doubles as a target bullet as it has a BC that closely matches the Sierra 175 MK which is what I normally use.

155 Scenar, if you can push it fast 2850+ it will shoot flatter than the 175smk with a little wind hold advantage.

It all boils down the personal preference. Do you want light and fast with less drop, or heavier and slow with less wind drift. For light and faster, guys run a 155 grain. For heavier and slow, the 175 is common. For better wind drift numbers, a 190 SMK is good. If you can get a 208 A-max to shoot good, then it's a good choice.
